Assessment and Feasibility of Tourism Development in the Kanibarazan Wetland of Mahabad, Iran Original Article, D63 Hossein pour M, Movahhed A., Rashidi Ebrahim hesari A, Shamaie A. J. Civil Eng. Urban. 4(4): 415-422. 2014 ABSTRACT: Tourism has been approved as in powerful tool in development model, and its activities are known as invisible export and industry, on the other side comprehensive and sustainable requires knowledge of economic, social, cultural and political issues with in the communities. Also tourism development requires extensive participation of local people in tourism development planning where in today world local communities being involved in environment protection in fact for protection of wetland type of public participation are considered. Of course public participation could be effective only while lagoons don’t expose to any threat. So Mahabad city with many attractions in the field of nature tourism including its wetlands could attract lot of tourists through the true scientific management and ensure its sustainability in long-term. Present article reviews tourism and its effects on Mahabad Kanibrazan wetland. Research type in this study is descriptive &analytical. Data gathering tolls in this research are field and library studies and finally for data analysis SWOT model has been used. Research findings show if obstacles like lack of accommodations, health services, amenities, improper recreational facilities and so on being removed not only it would be possible to use potential of the Kanibarazan wetland for the purpose of job creating and making money, but also steps will be taken in order to create a tourism center with in the region. Investigation and Measurement of Heavy Metals Amount (As, Pb, Cd, Hg) within Rivers Estuaries Located in the West Side of Urmia Lake Original Article, D35 Esmat Saatloo SJ, Esmat Saatlo M, Siosemarde M, Merufinia E. J. Civil Eng. Urban. 4(3): 233-238. 2014 ABSTRACT: The ecosystem of Urmia Lake is almost close ended and the water of rains and rivers play an important role in Biological activities of this lake. It is worth stating that the national park of Urmia Lake is almost one of the rare one in world class, since the watery environment of this park is so salty and the only living being which could survive in this lake is named Artemia. Since this park has special natural condition and various ilks of ecosystems, it can be considered one of best domicile for numerous kinds of birds and prominent national park of Iran. Although for now, the West Azerbaijan province is not among the geographical regions of Iran that lead to production of pollution and the extension of industrial activities in this region still do not pollute the watery regions, but the amount of pollution in this area is moving toward pick points and if no measurement is taken in order to control the industrial activities and other polluters, the water source of this province will face with a serious ecological crisis. The rivers that flow into the Urmia Lake have a mineral load, since the urban, agriculture and rural sewage pour into these rivers. This survey aims at identifying the amount of pollution, polluters, self-purification capacity of rivers and offering a solution for resolving the pollution issue, especially when the water level of Urmia Lake is decreased, which lead us to consider polluters and their effects. Optimization of Energy Consumption in Buildings with Architectural Design Compatible with Environment and Climate Original Article, C58 Karkeh Abadi Z and Mesgarian H. Journal. Civil Eng. Urban. 3(6):392-397. 2013 ABSTRACT:Extremely valuable fossil fuels and huge national investment in the recovery of fuel costs highlight the need to improve the structure and patterns, energy efficiency necessary to use. Damaging effects of fossil fuels on the environment and the nature have created risks in the lives of citizens, especially in today's metropolises. Thus, considering the use of native and adaptive knowledge in today architecture is crucial. Therefore, the present paper aims to investigate the environmental and climate effects on sustainable construction and constrains with the environments in hot and dry regions and its effect on optimization of energy consumption in the green architecture compatible with nature in city Damghan. Accordingly, besides use of library resources, required information was collected through field and descriptive –analytical methods in order to different aspects of climate effects on architecture and building in the studied region were considered. The obtained result indicate that traditional architecture consistent with Damghan climate, is totally in accordance with sustainable architecture principles and besides saving energy consumption, has a complete compatibility with the environment. Urban. 3(4):221-224. 2013 ABSTRACT:Cities are physical structures that have been built in the heart of nature by human beings. The growth rate of urbanization has been increased after the industrial revolution and urban sprawls are considered some kind of invasion of natural spaces around the city. Currently converting natural areas to urban residential spaces and urban application, conversion of natural forests to agricultural land and villa construction and road building, uncontrolled growth of consumer industries, pollution of water sources, increased artificial uses of the Earth and environmental pollution, have caused a lot of damages to normal appearance of the Earth and continuation of this trend can cause the interaction of nature and consequently make life of current and future generation face to face with danger. Environment as a development platform has an important role in the development of the cities and healthy environment and sustainable ecosystems not only provide necessary platform in development process but also, the appropriate environment for human being to live in and his appropriate participation in the process of human development. Therefore any operation of the nature to construct and develop the cities should take place after evaluation of the resources and regarding the capacities of the natural environment. No city enjoys being completely prepared to guarantee its future sustainability and environmental requirements, force urban planners to observe the requirements of sustainable development. Accordingly, they should organize urban system and modes of production and methods of urban life such that urban development moves towards environmental sustainability. In sustainable urban development the subject of conservation of the natural resources for the present and future through optimal use of the land and causing the least damages to its resources are considered. Investigation of Dam Construction Effects without Environmental Assessment (Case Study: Urmia Lake) Original Article, C32 Majediasl M, Sangi A. Journal. Civil Eng. Urban. 3(4):201-206. 2013 ABSTRACT:Feedbacks on numerous harmful problems in the environment have caused appearance of some human society’s sensitivity about the range of human’s non-limited activities in the environment which are done without considering environmental limitations during the economic development process in the recent decades. If environmental problems, along with technical and economic justifications are not considered, activities related to the water resources development program will result in irreparable and undesirable consequences. Drying up of the lake due to irregular exploitation of catchment basin water resources and construction of several dams on the branches of its rivers without environmental assessments have led to increase in the region’s temperature, appearance of sand and salt storms, destruction of potential agricultural land, flooding, change in cultivation pattern, hence jeopardizing the life of region’s people. Because of these, Natural ecosystems existing around the lake have been changed remarkably, and animates’ habitat in the lake is going to be destroyed. So, it is necessary to carry out an accurate evaluation before implementing water resources projects during the investigation of economic and technical justifications, so that any exploitation of nature can be done in the framework of the capabilities and potentials of natural environment. In this paper, we present some approaches to fight against undesirable consequences of dam construction, investigating environmental changes in Urmi a Lake.
